I'm Dmitry — "Mitya" to most. FameLab Switzerland winner, three-time Science Slam champion, and the coach who helps scientists, founders and experts command any stage with clarity and confidence.
Stages I've spoken & presented on
I trained as a physician in Russia, earned an MSc in Molecular Biology in Germany, researched in Israel, and completed a PhD in Immunology & Infection in Switzerland. Somewhere along the way I discovered that the hardest part of science isn't the research — it's getting people to care about it.
So I learned to tell the story. I won FameLab Switzerland and went on to the international final, took Science Slam titles in Basel, Zurich and Berlin, and now work with a Swiss deep-tech startup where clear communication literally unlocks venture capital and public funding.
Today I coach scientists, founders and experts to do the same — built around four things we work on together: content, delivery, Q&A and stress management.
Every session — whether one-on-one or with a whole team — is built on the same four pillars. We work through them in order, because a talk is only as strong as its weakest link.
What are you actually saying, and why should anyone care? We find your single core message, cut the noise, and build a story arc with the right analogies so complex ideas become obvious and memorable.
Voice, pace, pauses, body language and slides. We turn a script into a performance — so you hold attention, sound natural, and let your visuals support you instead of competing with you.
The part most people fear. We prepare for the hard questions, practise thinking on your feet, and learn to handle challenges, blanks and hostile rooms with calm, credible answers.
Nerves are normal — being ruled by them isn't. We build practical routines for the days before and the minutes before you go on, so adrenaline works for you rather than against you.
Both formats run on the same four-pillar framework — content, delivery, Q&A and stress management. The difference is simply whether we focus on you, or on your team.
Personal, high-focus coaching for a talk that matters: a conference keynote, a thesis defense, an investor pitch, a competition, or simply becoming a stronger speaker overall. We rebuild it from the ground up and rehearse until it's yours.
An engaging keynote or elaborated lecture-style workshop where I take a whole group through the craft of presentation in one go — the same four pillars of content, delivery, Q&A and stress management, distilled into a single memorable session.
Ideal as a conference talk, a lab or team away-day, or a kickoff before a big round of pitches. Tailored to your field and audience, delivered on-site or online.
The best way to understand how I coach is to watch how I speak. Tap a talk to play it on YouTube, or dive into my full Science Presentation playlist.
We start with your goal, your audience and your material. What do you need them to feel, remember and do?
Together we work the four pillars — content, delivery, Q&A and stress management — until every minute earns its place.
Then we rehearse under realistic pressure until you walk on stage genuinely ready to own the room.
"The goal was never to sound smart. It's to be understood — and to be impossible to forget."
— Dmitry "Mitya" Kopelyanskiy
